How to plan a survival house before you start digging
In survival, every block is something you mined, chopped or smelted, so a survival house is only as good as the list you gather from. Each of these survival house ideas opens with the full block list in stacks and chests, with hard-to-find blocks flagged, so you can see what the build costs before you break ground.
Gather by chapter rather than all at once. Cover the footings and walls first, then collect the roof and interior blocks while you live in the shell. The raw materials view of the block list shows the logs and stone behind each plank and brick, which turns the list into a mining and chopping plan.
Check the size on the card against the plot you have. Level the ground or pick a house that sits easily on your terrain, and keep the blueprint open as you go: one layer at a time on a grid, one square per block, so a missed block shows up before the next layer sits on top of it.
What makes a good survival house?
A size you can finish, blocks you can gather, and a way to stop and pick up again. Every build shows its size, build time and block list up front, and the chapters give you natural places to stop.
How much wood and stone will I need?
The block list gives the exact count for every block, in stacks and chests. Wood and stone are usually the biggest lines, and the raw materials view shows how many logs and how much stone sit behind the planks and bricks.
Do survival houses use rare blocks?
Some builds use blocks that are hard to find. They’re flagged in the block list with a note, so you can collect them early or choose a build that doesn’t need them.
